The end of the long, long bureaucratic road!!!!

He that can have patience can have what he will.
- Benjamin Franklin

Wow…after reams and trees of paperwork, the major bureaucratic hurdles of our adoption journey are basically done!!! Today we went to the US embassy here in Hanoi and had our visa interview…which was pretty easy…just signed some papers…and that was it…We went back at four o’clock and picked up the paperwork and little Anthony’s passport with his immigrant visa stamped in it…… So once we return home and his feet touch American soil (and we turn over the sealed envelope with all his paperwork to the immigration official at the airport) he will officially be a United States Citizen!!!

The only other thing when we get home is to readopt him in the state of NJ (which is voluntary, but a good idea…because we can officially change his name and get him a NJ birth certificate, etc…not a big deal…just need to work with the county surrogate)

So the next step is to get home! At this posting, we can only get a flight home which will allow us to arrive home this Wednesday…We are going to make one more attempt with the airline tomorrow for an earlier flight…so will see!! We are enjoying ourselves…and have no problem staying a few more days…good family time, etc…plus we are having a good time…So if we can get home sooner, great…if not, we will make the best of it…

We will continue to keep everyone posted via the blog….For now, here are some more pictures!!!

Anyone who says there are no cute clothes for boys needs to check out Anthony's wardrobe! I esp. love his bug outfit and the plaid shortalls with orange shirt. What a cutie!

Glad things are going smoothly. Everyone looks so happy!

Sounds like overall things have gone very well. I bet you can't wait to get home! We received our MOJ dossier approval yesterday so that was good news. BTW, loved the overalls! We'll have some questions for you before we travel. Thanks for sharing everything.
Many Blessings-
