The Homestudy!!!

Ok...so the dreaded HomeStudy is now complete. Thank goodness that is over! I guess we were lucky, our Social Worker was really nice. We seemed to get along well, so that made it a little less nerve-wracking. However, we still got really nervous about....is the house clean enough??? is she going to be ok with the baby's bedroom still being Anthony's office??? Will we say the wrong thing??? What if I go into one of those giggling fits??? Will she think we are going to be good parents??? What if...well, you get the idea! We are thankful it's over!

To begin our visits, we had to complete a pretty lengthy questionnaire (16 pages of essay questions to be exact!). Then, we had our first visit, during which our Social Worker, Debbie, asked us about our families and respective childhoods. She then went over some of our financial information and took a tour of our house. I kept feeling like I had to explain why things were set up the way they were...but those of you who really know me, realize that is what I do when I get nervous...I TALK!!!!!!

The second visit was a little easier. This time, Anthony and I had to do separate interviews with Debbie. She asked us about our marriage and parenting styles. I thought it was rather funny when she asked me if I had any concerns about my marriage or my husband that I hadn't told Anthony! I have never been one to hold my tongue...so I kind of giggled and said "Do I seem like the type to hold anything back...I am pretty comfortable speaking about whatever is on my mind when I have an issue". Just as I said it...I said to myself, "Self, was that really the right thing to say?????" But naturally, it was too late to change it...C'est la vie!!!!

Soooo, anyway, Debbie left and said she would have our HomeStudy completed and submitted to Holt by Wednesday of last week! Hopefully, it is there...we are just waiting for that "approval"!
Then on to the next step....
